The circuit board is mainly composed of pads, overholes, mounting holes, wires, components, connectors, padding, electrical boundaries, etc.

The circuit board makes the circuit miniaturized and intuitive, and plays an important role in the mass production of fixed circuits and optimizing the layout of electrical appliances. A circuit board may be called a printed circuit board or a printed circuit board. The export of PCBs to the EU is subject to environmental ROHS testing.

How to do the RoHS testing of your circuit boards?

In January 2003, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted the RoHS Directive, the full name is The Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, that is, the Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, also known as the 2002/95/EC Directive, and in 2005, the EU supplemented the 2002/95/EC in the form of the resolution 2005/618/EC, clearly specifying the maximum limit values for six hazardous substances.

As of January 3, 2013, the former RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC will be repealed and EU countries must update the new Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2.0) to local law by January 2, 2013. The new RoHS test standard or EN62321 test version is updated to EN62321:2012.

The European Commission issued Directive (EU) 2015/863 amending 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2.0) to include four phthalates in the list of restricted substances. The amended directive, which came into force on 22 July 2019, requires that all electrical and electronic products sold within the EU must not contain 10 restricted substances.

The PCB RoHS testing process is as follows.

  1. Application (ROHS testing application form, list of product components;)

  2. Quotation (testing costs based on product;)

  3. Payment (applicant confirms the offer, signs the application form and service agreement and pays the full project fee, and prepares the test samples;)

  4. RoHS testing adopted and report completed.

  5. Issuance of RoHS test reports.
