IRAM S-mark Certification

Argentina IRAM Safety Mark is mandatory certification mark (except for exempted goods). Argentina adopts Resolution 92/98 in 1998 and certification system is established as mandatory. Since December 31, 2002, the regulated product shall be evaluated by Argentina Accreditation Organization (OAA) accredited certification body whether it comply with relevant standards or not. Manufacturers can add Argentina S mark on products that comply with relevant standards. Execution of product assessment is based on IEC standard with Argentina deviation standard.

Argentine has regulations that any electrical and electronic products with AC voltage between 50 to 1500Vac or DC voltage between 50 to 1000Vdc requires mandatory safety certification. Certification mode includes type certification, batch certification and mark certification. According to product categories, customers can choose either of the following modes:

Product assessment criteria are based on Argentina's national IRAM standards (mostly refer to IEC standards), or add the Argentine national deviation to the IEC standard. For electronic products, most household electrical appliances and part lighting products, Argentina certification bodies accept valid CB Certificate and complete CB test report  issued by certification body under mutual recognition agreement.

Energy Label

In May 1999, the Ministry of Argentina's National Energy, Trade and Industry adopts Resolution No. 319/99 that implement energy efficiency label scheme for a variety of household appliances, including refrigerators, refrigeration equipment, washing machines, air conditioners and other lighting equipment. Argentine energy efficiency rating is divided into seven grades A, B, C, D, E, F, G, while A-class is highest energy-efficient level. Shall specify the level of energy efficiency of the product and the test methods used on the energy efficiency testing. Resolutions requires manufacturers, importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers must obtain certificate that their products comply with technical standards in advance then can enter into the Argentine market.

Argentina CNC Certification

CNC is short for COMISION NACIONAL DE COMUNICACIONES, which is the Argentina regulatory agency for telecommunications and radio equipment. All equipment with access to public telecommunication network and use of radio frequency bands, are required to apply for CNC type approval. Applicants must register and submit the appropriate legal files to CNC, meanwhile the application for type approval must be applied by the local agency.
